While running, the kernel reports the following messages repeatedly on the screen and the system log file:
Mar 8 10:26:58 trout kernel: CPU1: Temperature above threshold Mar 8 10:26:58 trout kernel: CPU0: Temperature above threshold Mar 8 10:26:58 trout kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode Mar 8 10:26:58 trout kernel: CPU1: Running in modulated clock mode
The error message indicates that the Pentium 4 or Pentium D processor is overheating. When high temperature is detected, the processor will reduce its clock speed automatically to protect the core. To resolve the problem, contact ASL technical support at techsupport@aslab.com and provide the system serial number and/or invoice number.
