The system does not power off under SuSE 2.6.11.4-21.9-smp kernel
Problem
The system does not power off under SuSE 2.6.11.4-21.9-smp kernel when issuing the command 'poweroff' or 'shutdown -h now'. Instead, the system reboots. The command 'halt' also reboots the system.
The symptom only occurs under BIOS revision 2.05. A previous 2.04l BIOS work ok. In addition, the system powers off successfully when using ASL 2.6.12-6 kernel under 2.05 BIOS.
The affected models are the Marquis K825 and Omega 8300.
Solution
Currently there is no fix until SuSE releases a newer 2.6.12 kernel.
