Using the right driver for the Marvell controller
RHEL4 Update 4 and CentOS 4.4 now include the libata driver (sata_mv) for the Marvell controller. However, this driver has yet to reach maturity or stability. To avoid system crashes or lock up under heavy I/O load, do not use this driver.
Instead, use the Marvell driver (mv_sata) supplied in the ASL RHEL4/CentOS Device Driver CD. When installing RHEL4/CentOS, always enter 'linux dd'. The installer will prompt for the driver disk.
